The North America, Central America, and Caribbean Track & Field Coaches Association was created 30 years ago by Victor Lopez and other top coaches in the Caribbean, Central America, US, and Canada. we have hosted international coaches congresses for almost three decades, bringing the best coaches in the world to the NACAC community.

HISTORY
After three years of attempts to organize an area coaches association, a dream was realized on July 31st and August 2nd, 1989 when the North America, Central America and Caribbean Track and Field Coaches Association (NACACTFCA) was founded. The independent association is intended to act as a vehicle, through various activities related to coaching development, for the improvement of competitive performances and it is open to coaches from all IAAF Member Federations in the Area. Thirty coaches representing 12 countries took part in the two organizational meetings held at the Albergue Olimpico In Salinas, Puerto Rico, the site of the lAAF/NACAC Regional Development Centre. The first meeting, where the Constitution was discussed, was conducted by the lAAF's Assistant Development Director Mr Bill Glad. At the second meeting, conducted by the lAAF's North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) Representative Dr. Amedeo Francis, the following Board of Directors was elected: President: Victor Lopez (PUR) Vice-president: Gerry Swan (BER) Vice-President: Wendell Prince (AHO) Secretary: Roberto Carmona (MEX) At-Large: Gary Winckler (USA), Lyle Sanderson (CAN), Frank Rahming (BAH), Leo Brown (JAM).
HISTORIA
Tras tres años de intentos por organizar una asociación de entrenadores de la región, un sueño se hizo realidad los días 31 de julio y 2 de agosto de 1989, cuando se fundó la Asociación de Entrenadores de Atletismo de Norteamérica, Centroamérica y el Caribe (NACACTFCA). Esta asociación independiente tiene como propósito actuar como un vehículo —a través de diversas actividades relacionadas con el desarrollo de la labor de entrenamiento— para la mejora del rendimiento competitivo, y está abierta a entrenadores de todas las Federaciones Miembro de la IAAF en la región. Treinta entrenadores, en representación de 12 países, participaron en las dos reuniones organizativas celebradas en el Albergue Olímpico de Salinas, Puerto Rico, sede del Centro Regional de Desarrollo de la IAAF/NACAC. La primera reunión, en la que se debatió el Estatuto, fue dirigida por el Director Adjunto de Desarrollo de la IAAF, el Sr. Bill Glad. En la segunda reunión, dirigida por el Representante de la IAAF para Norteamérica, Centroamérica y el Caribe (NACAC), el Dr. Amedeo Francis, se eligió la siguiente Junta Directiva: Presidente: Victor Lopez (PUR); Vicepresidente: Gerry Swan (BER); Vicepresidente: Wendell Prince (AHO); Secretario: Roberto Carmona (MEX); Miembros Vocales: Gary Winckler (USA), Lyle Sanderson (CAN), Frank Rahming (BAH), Leo Brown (JAM).
